  • Aleksandra Buhr, MD.

Current Position: Medical Director of Vis Clinic

Aleksandra Buhr, MD. (or Dr. Ola for short) is a Board Certified Family Physician. Dr. Ola has a deep interest and passion for disease prevention and partners with her patients to reverse or improve their chronic disease states using a holistic approach.

Dr. Ola was born in Wroclaw, Poland, and moved to the United States in early childhood. As a 3rd generation physician she was deeply influenced by medicine and patient care from an early age. Always having a passion for the natural world around her, Dr. Ola decided to study biology with a minor in chemistry at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. She returned to Poland to attend medical school at Poznan University of Medical Sciences in Poznan, Poland, where she graduated with honors. Afterwards, she completed her Family Medicine Residency training at East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine.

Following the completion of her residency program Dr. Ola worked briefly in Urgent Care prior to moving to New Zealand where she worked as a locum tenens family doctor in a very busy Community Health Clinic. It was through this experience that she fully realized the natural healing properties of the human body. She then worked at the Riordan Clinic in Wichita, Kansas, where she immersed herself in Integrative and Functional Medicine. Her goal is to target the root cause of her patients' “dis-ease” through healthy lifestyle changes, dietary adjustments, detoxification, and correction of nutritional deficiencies.

Dr. Ola is trained to treat many acute and chronic health conditions. She is especially interested in women’s hormonal health, digestive issues, optimizing thyroid function, and is trained in prolozone injection therapy for musculoskeletal pain management. Dr. Ola collaborates with her patients so that together they can customize a treatment plan to address each health issue.

When she is not in the office, Dr. Ola enjoys homesteading with her husband Nathan (a native of Wichita) at their family farm. Her passions include organic gardening, hiking, traveling, spending time in nature, as well as practicing and teaching Kundalini Yoga.

Dr. Ola is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Institute of Functional Medicine.
